Today is my Aunt’s birthday. She was an awesome Aunt, she has since lost her life to cancer, however, my memories of her do not go away. As kid we would go visit her in the valley(New Minas) and see her and my two crazy, but awesome, cousins almost every summer.
My fondest memories of my aunt would be weeks in the summer, where she would have me and my brother over night for a week. I grew up in the tiny town of Shelburne, Nova Scotia, so New Minas was like New York to me! hehe. Honestly, I don’t know how she did it. As a child I was rather stubborn, unruly and whiney (Mike may argue the whiney part hasn’t changed lol), yet she welcomed us every summer. We spent our days chasing cows in the lower fields, arguing with our cousins, playing Nintendo, she’d take us to cool places, camp outside in the tent, keep her up all night laughing and it was awesome!
